What to draw
A drawn map uses one flat colour for each kind of ground: sea, flat land, hills, mountains, lakes, rivers and so on. Several colours can be the same group, for example mountains in a desert and mountains in a forest, each with its own biome.
Tip: The wizard opens with a guide, How to draw a map that imports well.
Import it
- 1New world, then Import Map, then Drawn map.
- 2Choose the terrain picture and crop it.
- 3In the legend, give each colour a land group and a biome. Outlines and writing go under Unassigned and are filled from the ground round them.
- 4Set where the map sits on the globe and how its edges behave.
- 5Optionally add a second picture with realms, settlements and roads.
- 6Create the world.
Use How it will be read to check the result before building. Lasso out an area to leave out labels or anything else that is not ground.
